History

Spirit of Joy was a mission start congregation that began in 2000 and and we were incorporated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 2003. Worship was held in the Performing Arts Center at Buffalo High School. In 2007, a core group of believers empowered by the Holy Spirit purchased 20 acres of land a mile north of Highway 55. We broke ground in 2009 and completing the church within the year. We were blessed to have worshipped there for 15 years before being called to a new location.  Today, we worship at Buffalo Presbyterian.  They have graciously allowed us a wonderful church to use to continue worshipping with our ELCA family.

Beliefs

Spirit of Joy is an ELCA Lutheran church and follows its beliefs by confessing in the Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  In our preaching and teaching we trust the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
